Today we were on the road by 0930 and we took Ruta 25 SW to reconnect with Hwy 5. This stretch of Hwy 5 was long and boring, with the highlight being the giant buried hand sculpture south of Antofagasta. After some pictures there, we shouldered on looking for a place to stop for the night. We decided to stay at Taltal for the night. The 22km road to the coast was heaven after the mind numbing Hwy 5. We got a hotel for $58 USD and enjoyed the nice sleepy town on the Pacific ocean.
